Flooring installation (solid wood, engineered, laminate)
Fitting kitchens, worktops, and cabinetry
Experience with roofing structures and timber framing
Joinery repairs and maintenance
Confident use of hand and power tools (e.g. routers, mitre saws, chisels)
Knowledge of various timber types and their appropriate use
Understanding of building regulations and safety standards

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Joiner to join our team at Handyman Hunter. You will be responsible for carrying out a range of domestic joinery tasks across customer homes, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Key Duties:

Fitting internal and external doors, skirting boards, and flooring

Installing kitchens, cupboards, shelving, and bespoke woodwork

Repairing or replacing damaged woodwork and fixtures

Reading and interpreting drawings or client instructions

Measuring, cutting, and assembling materials with accuracy

Ensuring all work areas are kept tidy and safe

Liaising with customers and the office team to ensure smooth project delivery

A successful candidate will have strong practical skills, their own tools and transport, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Requirements

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent qualification)

CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)

Minimum 3–5 years' experience in domestic joinery or general carpentry

Own tools and transport (clean driving licence preferred)

Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and best practices

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans

High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Good communication skills and a professional, customer-facing approach

Valid public liability insurance
